About

WARY EYE. BRITISH ROCK. ORIGINAL MUSIC. IN SWITZERLAND.

Almost ready

It’s been a long time coming” as one of our songs* says. After more than 20 years of  toying with the idea and with different styles and formats WARY EYE has come together. With a set of original songs we will be looking to play live in the Lac Léman region and hopefully beyond in the next few months.

WARY EYE is Guy Gueritz guitar and vocals, Paul Porter bass, Stuart McKinnon guitar and vocals, Stuart Spelling keyboards, Richard Sykes drums.

The sound:

Central to the band’s sound is Guy’s singing and guitar with Stuart M’s guitar and vocals, supported by Paul’s bass, Stuart S on keys and Richard’s drums.

There is a nostalgia about the music of WARY EYE which, though rooted somewhere in folk music has hints of progressive rock, with often a surprisingly hard rocky edge. There's quite a variety, from the gently lyrical My Saving Grace, through sitar effects on Past of No Regret, to the rocky What’s your Game, the songs stir the memory. The original songs, written and composed by Guy, Richard and Stuart S make up the bulk of their set with a handful of complementary covers.

Biography

Guy and Richard have played together on and off for more than twenty years often incorporating one or two of Guy’s original songs into sets of mainly covers. Over the last year they worked up a set of 16 original songs as a voice/guitar and drums duo but realised that the sound needed more depth. The addition of Paul and the two Stuarts has reinforced and expanded the overall effect and makes a substantial live sound.
